Is Chifeng Jilong Gold Mining a Hong Kong SAR China company, and does that change how it is taxed?

Chifeng Jilong Gold Mining trades on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in HKD, but the company is domiciled in China. Chifeng Jilong Gold Mining trades as an ordinary share listed directly in Hong Kong, not a depositary receipt. Your India-side capital-gains treatment is the same either way.

Yes. Foreign shares held on 31 March must be reported in Schedule FA of your Indian income-tax return. Paasa gives you a Schedule FA-ready statement listing your Chifeng Jilong Gold Mining holding, its cost and its closing value.
