About

Broncus Holding Corporation is a global medical technology company specializing in the development of interventional pulmonology products. Its market reach extends across Mainland China, the European Union, the United States, and other international territories. The company's innovative product lineup includes advanced navigation systems such as LungPoint Virtual Bronchoscopic Navigation, a sophisticated computer-assisted image-based software solution. It also offers LungPoint Plus, a system providing real-time airway guidance crucial for lung biopsies and other medical interventions, and LungPro, a virtual bronchoscopic navigation product that enables three-dimensional real-time guided transbronchial needle aspiration alongside proprietary parenchymal navigation. Beyond navigation, Broncus provides a suite of therapeutic products. These feature InterVapor, a targeted bronchoscopic thermal vapor ablation system designed to treat diseased, hyper-inflated lung segments. Additionally, it offers an RF Generator paired with an RF Ablation Catheter, forming a radiofrequency ablation system specifically developed to target lung cancer. The H-Marker, a pulmonary surgical marker, is another key offering. The company further supplies a range of specialized procedural devices, including the BioStarNeedle, a single-use ultrasound-guided aspiration needle for retrieving tissue samples, and the FleXNeedle, a versatile multipurpose biopsy needle. Complementing these are various bronchoscopic accessories like the Archimedes Sheath, a sterile, single-use flexible tube that serves as a working channel during bronchoscopic procedures. The Archimedes Dilation Balloon, another sterile, single-use flexible tube with a distal balloon, is used to dilate target lung tissue within the bronchial tree after insertion through a bronchoscope or sheath. Finally, the Steerable Sheath provides a steerable adjustment handle and an additional working channel. Broncus Holding Corporation was established in 2012 and maintains its corporate headquarters in Hangzhou, China.

How to buy Broncus from India

Indian residents can buy Broncus shares through Paasa in four steps. Funds leave India under the RBI's Liberalised Remittance Scheme and the shares are held in your own name with Interactive Brokers.

  1. Open a Paasa account

Complete digital KYC with your PAN, Aadhaar and address proof. Your brokerage account is opened in your own name with Interactive Brokers.

  2. Add funds under LRS

Transfer INR from your Indian bank account. Your bank reports the remittance under the RBI's Liberalised Remittance Scheme and converts it to US dollars and then to HKD.

  3. Search for Broncus and place an order

Find Broncus by name or by its ticker, 2216, and choose an order type. Many Hong Kong listings trade in board lots, so the smallest order is one lot rather than one share. Broncus trades 7:00 am – 1:30 pm IST; orders can only execute during that window.

  4. Track holdings and download tax reports

Follow your Broncus position in HKD and INR. Broncus pays no dividend today, so your filing is the capital-gains statement plus the Schedule FA holding line.

FAQs

Can Indian residents buy Broncus stock?

Yes. Broncus (2216) has been listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange since 2021, in the Medical - Devices industry, and Indian residents can buy it through Paasa. You fund the account from your Indian bank under the RBI's Liberalised Remittance Scheme and the money is converted to US dollars and then to HKD. Shares are held in your own name at Interactive Brokers, segregated from Paasa's own assets.

How much does one Broncus share cost in rupees?

One Broncus share is HK$0.78 — about ₹9 at an HKD/INR rate of 12.23 on 26 Sep 2026. Both the Broncus price and the rupee rate move during the day, so the rupee cost changes with them.

What are the LRS and TCS rules for buying Broncus from India?

Remit up to $250,000 per financial year under the RBI's Liberalised Remittance Scheme (LRS). Banks collect 20% tax at source on LRS remittances above ₹10 lakh in a financial year; the TCS is adjustable against your income-tax liability. FX and the LRS declaration are handled by your bank when you fund your account.

What is the minimum I can buy of Broncus?

Many Hong Kong listings trade in board lots, so the smallest order is one lot rather than one share.

How are gains on Broncus shares taxed in India?

Hong Kong generally does not levy capital gains tax on non-resident individual investors for HKEX-listed stocks, so the tax is an India-side one. Gains on shares held for more than 24 months are long-term and taxed at 12.5%. Gains on shares held for 24 months or less are short-term and taxed at your income-tax slab rate. The gain is computed in rupees using the HKD/INR rate on the purchase and the sale date, so the rupee move counts alongside the Broncus price. Paasa issues a capital-gains statement for your return.

Does Broncus pay a dividend?

No. Broncus does not currently pay a dividend, so holding it produces no dividend income to declare in India. If it starts paying one, the Indian treatment is the usual one — dividends are taxed at your slab rate in India — and Paasa's dividend report would show the gross amount and any tax withheld.

When can I trade Broncus from India?

The Hong Kong Stock Exchange trades 7:00 am – 1:30 pm IST in Indian time. It also halts for lunch, 9:30 am – 10:30 am IST. Orders can only execute during that window.

Is Broncus a Hong Kong SAR China company, and does that change how it is taxed?

Broncus trades on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in HKD, but the company is domiciled in China. Broncus trades as an ordinary share listed directly in Hong Kong, not a depositary receipt. Your India-side capital-gains treatment is the same either way.

Do I have to declare Broncus shares in my Indian tax return?

Yes. Foreign shares held on 31 March must be reported in Schedule FA of your Indian income-tax return. Paasa gives you a Schedule FA-ready statement listing your Broncus holding, its cost and its closing value.

How do I sell Broncus and bring the money back to India?

You sell during market hours (7:00 am – 1:30 pm IST) and the proceeds settle in HKD in your Paasa account. From there you can hold the balance, reinvest, or repatriate. Funds can be withdrawn in any currency to any bank account in your own name. Whether the sale is short- or long-term is decided by the 24-month holding period.
