Operating as an investment holding company, China Renewable Energy Investment Limited primarily focuses on the renewable energy sector across the People's Republic of China. By the close of 2021, the firm managed a total power generating capacity of 738 megawatts, stemming from eight wind farms and a distributed solar project. These facilities are strategically located in the Chinese provinces of Hebei, Heilongjiang, Gansu, Inner Mongolia, Henan, and Zhejiang. In addition to its energy operations, the company offers human resources management services. Established in 2002 and headquartered in Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong, the entity operated under the name Hong Kong Energy (Holdings) Limited until its rebranding to China Renewable Energy Investment Limited in June 2011. It functions as a subsidiary of HKC (Holdings) Limited.
