FAQs
Can I buy DB on Paasa?
DB (012030) has been listed on the Korea Exchange since 1993, in the Information Technology Services industry. DB is not currently available to trade on Paasa; the figures on this page are for information. Indian residents who hold it through another broker still declare it under the rules below.
How much does one DB share cost in rupees?
One DB share is ₩2,020.00 — about ₹143 at a KRW/INR rate of 0.0708 on 30 Sep 2026. Both the DB price and the rupee rate move during the day, so the rupee cost changes with them.
What are the LRS and TCS rules for investing abroad from India?
Remit up to $250,000 per financial year under the RBI's Liberalised Remittance Scheme (LRS). Banks collect 20% tax at source on LRS remittances above ₹10 lakh in a financial year; the TCS is adjustable against your income-tax liability.
How are gains on DB shares taxed in India?
Gains on shares held for more than 24 months are long-term and taxed at 12.5%. Gains on shares held for 24 months or less are short-term and taxed at your income-tax slab rate. The gain is computed in rupees using the KRW/INR rate on the purchase and the sale date, so the rupee move counts alongside the DB price.
Does DB pay a dividend?
No. DB does not currently pay a dividend, so holding it produces no dividend income to declare in India. If it starts paying one, the Indian treatment is the usual one: dividends are taxed at your slab rate in India.
When does KRX trade, in Indian time?
The Korea Exchange trades 5:30 am – 12:00 pm IST in Indian time.
Do I have to declare DB shares in my Indian tax return?
Yes. Foreign shares held on 31 March must be reported in Schedule FA of your Indian income-tax return. The holding is reported with its cost and its closing value.
Does the rupee rate affect what I make on DB?
Yes. DB is priced in KRW, so your rupee outcome combines the KRW move with the KRW/INR move between the day you remit and the day you convert back.
