About

This Invesco ETF seeks to mirror the net total return of the EURO STOXX 50 Index, accounting for its own operational costs. The benchmark, a prominent blue-chip index for the Eurozone, comprises 50 leading companies from Eurozone nations. Its components are weighted by their free-float market capitalization, with an individual stock limit of 10%. To achieve its objective, the fund primarily invests in a diverse portfolio of stocks. While these holdings generate most of the fund's returns, they typically do not perfectly match the index constituents. To precisely align its performance with the index, the fund also employs unfunded swap agreements. Through these contracts, approved counterparties exchange any discrepancy between the fund's equity basket returns and the index's returns, striving for a more accurate and steady tracking outcome than a purely physical replication strategy might yield. It's important to note that although the fund aims to replicate the net total return index, the swap agreements are based on the gross total return index. The associated swap fees are calculated against this gross return, which means the ETF's performance may, counter-intuitively, outperform the net return index. Furthermore, the fund's Manager might receive an annual contribution, up to 0.070% of the swap's notional value, from the swap counterparties. This contribution helps cover some of the fund's expenses, yet it does not affect the fund's net asset value nor does it impose any additional cost on investors. This ETF operates under a passive management strategy, designed to simply track its index. Consequently, investing in this fund means acquiring units of an index-tracking vehicle, not direct ownership of its underlying assets.

No. Because SX5S is domiciled in Ireland rather than the US, it is not a US-situs asset, so US estate tax does not apply to it. US-listed ETFs held directly can be taxed at up to 40% above $60,000 when they pass to your family.

That keeps it outside US estate tax, and dividend withholding on its US shares is 15%, paid inside the fund, instead of the 25% withheld on a US-listed ETF. The 25% can generally be claimed as a credit in India; the 15% cannot. Capital gains on both are taxed the same way in India.
