About

The Invesco FTSE All-World UCITS ETF Acc seeks to mirror the total net returns of the FTSE All-World Index, after accounting for its operational charges. This benchmark index comprises large and medium-sized companies across both developed and emerging economies worldwide. Its components are weighted based on their market capitalization, ensuring no undue emphasis on particular countries or industry sectors, and the index undergoes rebalancing twice a year. To achieve this objective, the fund employs a strategic sampling approach. This involves using quantitative analysis to select a subset of securities from the index, considering factors such as country and sector allocations, alongside liquidity. Consequently, the fund holds fewer individual stocks than the full index. The aim is to closely track the index's performance while simultaneously minimizing the expenses associated with a complete replication strategy. This ETF is passively managed, meaning investors purchase units in the fund itself, rather than directly acquiring ownership of the underlying assets held within it.

No. Because FWRG is domiciled in Ireland rather than the US, it is not a US-situs asset, so US estate tax does not apply to it. US-listed ETFs held directly can be taxed at up to 40% above $60,000 when they pass to your family.

How is FWRG different from a US-listed ETF?

That keeps it outside US estate tax, and dividend withholding on its US shares is 15%, paid inside the fund, instead of the 25% withheld on a US-listed ETF. The 25% can generally be claimed as a credit in India; the 15% cannot. Capital gains on both are taxed the same way in India.
