About

This Invesco FTSE All-World UCITS ETF (Accumulating) is designed to mirror the overall performance of the FTSE All-World Index, its "Reference Index," after accounting for all fees. This benchmark comprehensively covers major and mid-sized companies across both developed and emerging markets globally. Each constituent within the index is weighted according to its market capitalization, maintaining a neutral stance without any preferential weighting towards specific countries or industry sectors. The Reference Index undergoes adjustments twice annually. To achieve its investment objective, the fund employs a "sampling" strategy. This involves a quantitative analysis to select a subset of securities from the Reference Index, considering factors such as country and sector allocations, alongside market liquidity. Consequently, the fund holds a more concentrated portfolio with fewer individual securities than the full Reference Index. The primary goal of this method is to closely replicate the index's returns while minimizing the operational expenses typically associated with a full, direct replication of every component. This Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) operates under a passive management approach. Investing in this fund means acquiring units in a passively managed, index-tracking vehicle, providing exposure to the underlying assets rather than direct ownership of the fund's individual holdings.

No. Because FWRA is domiciled in Ireland rather than the US, it is not a US-situs asset, so US estate tax does not apply to it. US-listed ETFs held directly can be taxed at up to 40% above $60,000 when they pass to your family.

How is FWRA different from a US-listed ETF?

FWRA is domiciled in Ireland rather than the US. That keeps it outside US estate tax, and dividend withholding on its US shares is 15%, paid inside the fund, instead of the 25% withheld on a US-listed ETF. The 25% can generally be claimed as a credit in India; the 15% cannot. Capital gains on both are taxed the same way in India.
