About
This Invesco ETF (FASA.L) seeks to replicate the net total return performance of the FTSE All Share ex Investment Trusts ESG Climate Select Index, after accounting for its charges. This index primarily monitors large and mid-sized UK companies, systematically adjusting their market weighting based on specific environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors. The goal of this methodology is to enhance exposure to businesses demonstrating strong ESG credentials, those generating a higher proportion of revenue from eco-friendly projects, and companies with lower carbon emissions and reduced fossil fuel reserves. The index is derived from the FTSE All-Share ex Investment Trusts Index but screens out firms involved in severe ESG controversies (including breaches of the UN Global Compact) or those participating in certain prohibited business activities, as defined by the Index Provider. These activities encompass Arctic oil and gas exploration, adult entertainment, controversial weapons, small arms, gambling, military contracting, nuclear power, oil sands, thermal coal, recreational cannabis, and tobacco. The index undergoes rebalancing on a quarterly basis. The fund's strategy is to achieve its objective by, as far as practical, holding all the constituent securities of the Reference Index in their respective proportions. It will adjust its portfolio in alignment with the index's quarterly rebalancing. This ETF is passively managed, meaning an investment constitutes ownership of units in an index-tracking fund, rather than direct ownership of the underlying assets.

How big is FASA, and what does it cost to hold?
Invesco FTSE All Share Screened & Tilted UCITS ETF manages about £48.4M. Its expense ratio is 0.12% a year, deducted inside the fund. It launched in 2021.
Is FASA a UCITS ETF?
Yes. Invesco FTSE All Share Screened & Tilted UCITS ETF is a UCITS fund domiciled in Ireland, set up under the European Union's UCITS rules for funds sold across Europe. It is listed on the London Stock Exchange ETF segment and trades in GBP.
What are FASA's largest holdings?
The top three are HSBC HOLDINGS PLC GBP 0.5000 (6.6%), ASTRAZENECA PLC USD0.25 (6.5%) and GSK PLC GBP 25.0000 (5.8%). FASA's 10 largest positions make up 49.4% of the fund.
Is FASA subject to US estate tax?
No. Because FASA is domiciled in Ireland rather than the US, it is not a US-situs asset, so US estate tax does not apply to it. US-listed ETFs held directly can be taxed at up to 40% above $60,000 when they pass to your family.
How are US dividends taxed inside FASA?
The US withholds 15% on dividends from the US shares the fund holds, and that tax is paid inside the fund. You cannot claim it as a Foreign Tax Credit in India.
How are gains on FASA taxed in India?
Units held for more than 24 months are long-term and taxed at 12.5% without indexation; units held for 24 months or less are taxed at your income-tax slab rate. The gain is worked out in rupees, so the currency move counts.
How has FASA performed?
FASA's price is up 11.3% over the past year. These figures are price change only and exclude dividends; past performance does not guarantee future returns.
How is FASA different from a US-listed ETF?
FASA is domiciled in Ireland rather than the US. That keeps it outside US estate tax, and dividend withholding on its US shares is 15%, paid inside the fund, instead of the 25% withheld on a US-listed ETF. The 25% can generally be claimed as a credit in India; the 15% cannot. Capital gains on both are taxed the same way in India.
