“HNI families shouldn't hold wealth in just one currency.”
You've been investing in global assets through Paasa for just over a year. What stood out?
For someone who allocates capital professionally, global investing has stopped being a diversification checkbox. It's become a deliberate position.
Over the last 12 months, USD has appreciated approximately 10% against INR. For Indian investors with dollar exposure, this effectively creates added returns by virtue of currency performance which complements the underlying asset returns.
An Indian investor allocating globally is earning in two ways at once. The underlying asset appreciates in dollar terms, and the rupee's slide against the dollar adds gains on top of that, a dual compounding effect most India-only portfolios never see.
What do you think about global investing as someone who allocates capital professionally?
That's why my view has shifted from thinking about global exposure as something nice to have, to something family offices and HNIs should be actively building into how they preserve and grow wealth. Family offices, institutions, and HNIs should access this mechanism for wealth preservation and growth.
In his own words
Cross-border investing is increasingly becoming a strategy to amplify returns based on currency dynamics for any kind of Indian investor, retail and HNI alike.
